In this section, we bring forward the vital contributions of our network’s members as they respond to key humanitarian crises and urgent global challenges. Each article showcases our members' statements, insights, and actions, providing a comprehensive look at their role in advocating and delivering principled humanitarian action worldwide.

From crisis response in conflict zones to advancing climate resilience at major global forums, our members work to support people affected by crises, guided by humanitarian principles and respect for International Humanitarian Law.

VOICE members responding to humanitarian crises:

Gaza: humanitarian crisis situation and VOICE members' statements: As the Gaza crisis persists, VOICE members report a humanitarian emergency of unprecedented severity. VOICE members and the international community have issued urgent calls for a ceasefire and the respect of humanitarian principles and International Humanitarian Law.

Sudan's humanitarian crisis: A nation on the brink: Sudan is grappling with one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world today. As the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues, the toll on the population has been devastating. Over half of the population urgently needs assistance, with the situation worsening by the day.

Türkiye - Syria earthquake: VOICE members providing life-saving aid: In the wake of the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Türkiye and Syria on 6 February 2023, VOICE members were at the forefront, delivering emergency relief in a region already suffering from a prolonged crisis.

Global Climate Advocacy

COP29: VOICE members on the spotlight: At COP29 in Baku, VOICE members are actively engaging to ensure that humanitarian perspectives are highlighted, contributing through statements, policy briefs, and events focused on building climate resilience and addressing the impacts of climate-related disasters.

COP28: VOICE members' engagement: At COP28 in Dubai, VOICE members engaged actively through the newly established “Humanitarian Hub,” a platform highlighting the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations. Several VOICE members issued position papers and hosted events during COP28 to advocate for climate justice, adaptation finance, and equitable solutions for communities facing the brunt of climate-related crises.

COP27: wins and losses from VOICE members’ perspective: COP27 marked an achievement with the establishment of a loss and damage fund to compensate vulnerable nations for climate-related harm. However, VOICE members emphasised that much remains to be done to operationalise the loss and damage fund, with expectations for more concrete steps at COP28 to address the needs of communities already facing severe climate impacts.
