All eyes on Colombia

Our thoughts are with the people of Colombia following the devastating earthquake.

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck parts of western Colombia on 10 August, causing widespread destruction. More than 130 people have lost their lives, with communities facing loss, displacement and uncertainty as the response continues to unfold. The disaster comes on the heels of two powerful earthquakes in neighbouring Venezuela earlier this summer, compounding already significant humanitarian needs across the region.

We stand in solidarity with all those affected and with the humanitarian organisations working tirelessly to provide lifesaving assistance. As the humanitarian situation develops, safe, timely and principled humanitarian action will be essential to ensure that those most in need can access assistance. VOICE calls for urgent international support.
