UNHCR Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe
In collaboration with the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), the UNHCR Regional Bureau for Europe is organising the 2021 Regional Consultations with non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Building on existing regular Regional Dialogues launched in July 2020 and on its first session organized on EU affairs on the 6 July 2021, the final 2021Consultations will be opened by Pascale Moreau, UNHCR Regional Director for Europe and will include the following three sessions :
- Inclusion in Europe through organisations led by forcibly displaced and stateless persons (21 September 2021);
- Access of forcibly displaced and stateless persons to social protection schemes in Europe through local actors and initiatives (22 September 2021);
- A side-event specifically designed to address issues and reforms related to funded partnerships between UNHCR and NGOs (23 September 2021).
These consultations seek to maintain a regular dialogue between UNHCR and NGOs in Europe to ensure two-way information-sharing on the situation of forcibly displaced and stateless populations in the region and identify opportunities for joint and complementary advocacy.
