CSO networks call on EU leaders to reverse the cuts to the NDICI and reinforce the humanitarian aid budget!

In a joint statement, VOICE and other CSO networks express their concerns about the deep cuts agreed to the EU's external action instruments by EU leaders in July. These cuts send an alarming signal about European solidarity with the rest of the world and will hamper the EU’s ability to tackle the global crises that hit developing countries the hardest. These crises include rising extreme poverty and inequality, the climate emergency, violent conflict and increasing disasters and existing and emerging pandemics, and affect disproportionally the most vulnerable communities worldwide.

Therefore, we call on the EU Member States and European Parliament to reverse cuts to the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) and reinforce the EU humanitarian aid budget.
