Care International: A Philippine community’s holistic approach to climate change, disasters, and ecosystem degradation


Care experience in the Philippines with their partner Assistance and Cooperation for Community Resilience and Development (ACCORD) shows that resilience and development work can also make emergency response and humanitarian efforts easier to implement, and in ways that are responsive to the communities’ needs. CARE has extensive experience in using gender transformative and integrated approaches in the region that is hit hard by the impacts of climate change working to strengthen community resilience and preparedness in the face of disasters and climate impacts with a particular emphasis on including women.
