VOICE VENRO European Roundtable
Invitation – Programme
European Humanitarian NGO Roundtable, Berlin
Thursday 27 September 2018
11h00 – 17h
Hotel Dietrich Bonnhoeffer Haus, Berlin
Ziegelstrasse 30, 10117 Berlin-Mitte
VOICE and VENRO are organising a roundtable with the intention to link national humanitarian perspectives from Germany with European perspectives, through VOICE board members, VENRO members and the participation of the European Commission’s DG ECHO and the German Foreign Ministry.
Commitments from the World Humanitarian Summit are driving changes in both donor and implementing agencies. The Grand Bargain is supporting an agenda for effectiveness and efficiency in humanitarian assistance and there is a new momentum behind linking humanitarian and development with a nexus approach. At the same time, the next EU Multi-Annual Financial Framework offers opportunities for increased funding from the EU. With new strategic approaches to foreign policy and crisis management at EU and German level too, this roundtable will address the challenges of making progress on the commitments from the World Humanitarian Summit and Grand Bargain in this context. What should European humanitarian NGOs collective priorities be to help shape these developments in 2018/2019?
The roundtable will include sessions on:
- priorities for European humanitarian aid 2018/19
- the Grand Bargain and partnership with the EU
- the humanitarian-development nexus
You can register here. The discussions will be in English.
