The side event "Towards Zero Hunger: A Review of Youth Engagement in Food Systems Transformation towards achieving SDG 2 targets" at the 2024 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will focus on youth engagement and co-leadership in food systems, specifically on progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2) – Zero Hunger.

Amid global challenges such as climate change and polycrisis, the Global Hunger Index 2023 highlights the urgent need to engage youth in shaping sustainable food systems. Based on the findings of the 2023 GHI, the event recognizes the need to invest in their capacity for inclusive food systems and profitable livelihoods beyond 2030.

Welthungerhilfe (WHH), the World Food Forum, the African Climate and Environment Foundation, ProVeg International and the Major Group for Children and Youth invite you to an interactive session in the form of an intergenerational panel which aims to foster dialogue, share experiences, and explore innovative solutions.
