Data collection and social media

– innovation or challenge for humanitarians?

VOICE is organising an event to bring together different actors to discuss data and the use of new technologies and social media in humanitarian action. While this undoubtedly presents many opportunities for data collection and innovation in the humanitarian sector, it also brings some challenges and questions to be addressed. This event is aimed at VOICE members and EU humanitarian stakeholders and will be followed by a networking reception.

Join us on Monday 15 May (18:00 – 21:00) at L42, Rue de la Loi 42, 1000-Brussels.

Panel discussion 18-20h

  • Massimo Marelli, Head of Data Protection Office, International Committee of the Red Cross
  • Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Research Professor in Humanitarian Studies, PRIO – Peace Research Institute Oslo
  • Tanya Penny, Communication Director, Disaster Management, World Vision

The reception to follow is an opportunity for VOICE members and EU humanitarian stakeholders to meet and network.
