Pilar Martinez Sanchez

Pilar Martinez Sanchez works as International Operations Director  at Médecins du Monde, Belgium. Pilar is a humanitarian and social development professional with more than 20 years of experience leading programmes in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. With a background in social work and international humanitarian action, she has worked across Europe, North Africa, Central Africa and Asia, focusing on protection, humanitarian access, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Since joining Médecins du Monde Belgium in 2013, Pilar has held senior operational leadership roles and currently oversees programmes in eleven countries across four regions. She brings extensive experience in partnership development, humanitarian coordination, donor engagement and advocacy, and contributes to strategic dialogue within the International Médecins du Monde Network.
