Michael Kühn

Senior Policy Advisor

Michael Kühn has more than 30 years experience in the international field with NGOs and in initiatives pursuing social justice, human rights, sustainable development, peace-building and environmental protection. He has spent half of his career in the field, in strategic and management positions in conflicting environments. 

He joined Welthungerhilfe in 2007, first as Country Director in Haïti and since 2010 as Deputy Director of the Policy and External Relations Unit. His advocacy and policy portfolio include humanitarian affairs, climate change politics, disaster risk reduction, resilience building, rights-based approaches and risk financing systems. Michael Kühn has proven track record of working in multicultural and conflicting environments, development of advocacy strategies and in external communication.

Michal holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Medieval History from University of Hamburg.
