World Refugee Day- Together we heal, learn and shine
Conflict and persecution have forced more than 80 million people around the world to flee their homes.
Each year, on the 20th of June, World Refugee Day is an occasion to celebrate their strength and courage, building empathy and understanding for their plight and recognizing their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
While COVID-19 amplified refugees and displaced persons’ vulnerabilities, the pandemic also showed us how much standing together makes a difference. Therefore this year’s theme is “The power of Inclusion”, highlighting how refugees contribute to a stronger, safer and more vibrant world, and calling for greater inclusion of refugees in health systems, schools and sport.
“Together we heal, learn and shine.”
