VOICE General Assembly 2024
On 20 June, we held the VOICE General Assembly 2024, bringing together the Board of Directors and members of the VOICE network. This year, we are happy to welcome two new members to the VOICE network: Christian Aid Ireland and Islamic Relief Worldwide Sweden.
As we bid farewell to Dominic Crowley, we extend our deepest gratitude for his six years of dedicated service as VOICE President. Following Dominic’s mandate, we are pleased to welcome Pauline Chetcuti, the first woman to be elected as VOICE President. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that Gonzalo Codina from Relief International Europe has been elected as a new member of the VOICE Board of Directors.
As during every General Assembly, we reflected on the main achievements of the VOICE network in 2023 with regards to:
- Strengthening dialogue with DG ECHO and EU Presidencies
- Playing an active role in the European Humanitarian Forum
- Advocating at the European Parliament level
- Engaging in Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus discussions
- Increasing visibility and membership
Last but not least, we had the opportunity to welcome Hans Das, Deputy Director General DG ECHO, for a fruitful exchange with VOICE members on the politicisation of aid, the funding gap, localisation, and the HDP nexus, among other topics.
